In addition to Brennan, Sanders named former FBI Director James Comey; former director of national intelligence James Clapper; retired Gen. Michael Hayden, a former director of the CIA; former national security adviser Susan Rice; and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
Sanders said the officials were making "baseless accusations" of improper contact with Russian Federation against the president. "And making baseless accusations of improper relationship with Russian Federation is inappropriate".
The 6 include former CIA director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.
NASA launches historic probe to 'touch Sun'

Clapper said there were no grounds for dismissing his clearance, and that the White House's actions were directed exclusively at "people who have criticized the president".
A number of former top national security officials have criticized Trump.
Clapper called the threatened revocation of his security clearance a "sad commentary" on Trump's White House.
John V. Berry, an attorney who regularly represents federal intelligence agency employees, said that he didn't see any reason the president wouldn't be able to revoke clearance but that doing so would "be awful for America" and "totally defeat the process of defending national security".

Trump is the first president to get Turkey right
President Donald Trump last week ramped up his attack on Turkey by doubling tariffs on Turkish aluminum and steel imports. The currency plunge raised concerns of a banking crisis and rekindled long-running worries about economic mismanagement.
The CIA did not immediately comment on the White House threat.
Both the CIA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which oversees all United States intelligence agencies, said they had no comment on Trump's threat.
In a statement to CNN later Monday evening, Paul said anyone who calls the President "treasonous" - as Brennan did - "is someone who is over the top" and lacks "the proper judgment to still have access to classified information". Hayden said he requires a clearance for one proxy board position to protect sensitive USA information when dealing with a foreign parent company.
Some of targeted officials appeared to no longer have security clearances. Rand Paul of Kentucky tweeted that he would be meeting with Trump to discuss revoking Brennan's clearance for his scathing criticism of the president's performance at the summit with Putin. Comey has become a prominent critic, calling Trump "morally unfit to be president".
Rep. Adam B. Schiff of California, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said punishing Trump's critics "would set a bad new precedent".
