As people across the United States are still dealing with the romaine lettuce E. coli O157 outbreak, people in Minnesota are now suffering from an E. Coli infection.
Since May 2, 2018, 28 more ill people have been reported, bringing the total to 149 ill people from 29 states. They live in both metro and greater Minnesota counties. Seventeen of the individuals who have been hospitalized developed a type of kidney failure called hemolytic uremic syndrome, which causes the red blood cells to be destroyed.
