Looks like Apple's battery woes are not the case with iPhones only. The company later apologised and lowered the price of battery replacements for affected models to $29 from $79. The company has set up a website where users can determine if their MacBook Pro will qualify for the free replacement battery. To check if your MacBook Pro is eligible for this, you will need to enter in your MacBook Pro's serial number on Apple's support page and hit submit. Keep in mind that the service will take between 3-5 days and if there is another problem that is completely separate from the battery conundrum, it will need to be taken care of first and then come to the problem at hand. Apple walks you through the replacement process here. Apple further notes that the replacement program will not extend the standard warranty coverage of the affected MacBook Pro. Apple has requested customers who are getting their batteries replaced to backup their machines well in advance.
