Minnesota Twins season home opener was a cold one but that never bothered hearty Midwest fans from enjoying the day with and early breakfast on the plaza leading up to live entertainment before the first pitch.
You could say that Seattle Mariners pitcher James Paxton is, well, "unflappable". "I don't know. But it came for me", the left-hander said on Thursday evening after the Twins rallied past the Mariners 4-2.
After a moment on Paxton's shoulder, the eagle dropped back to the grass, where its trainer corralled it. And I'm not the eagle guy.' But I guess this eagle was just confused, apparently the first time ever.
"I was just standing there, trying not to panic", he said.Читайте также: Colorado State University releases forecast for upcoming hurricane season
He added, "I was just kind of like, alright, we'll see what happens".
"I kind of ducked it so it wouldn't fly into my face". "And then I thought, 'OK, if I can stand up slowly, maybe it'll just rest on my shoulder". He said he did feel a "sharp pain", but there were no scratches.
Paxton called the experience interesting and said tongue-in-cheek that he wasn't too surprised that the errant eagle sought out the Canadian on the the field. Twins closer Fernando Rodney joked about using one of the imaginary arrows he shoots into the air after converting a save to try to bring down the bird.
