Google has officially released the new Google Pay app for Android, which brings all of the company's payments platforms under one umbrella with a new name to replace Android Pay. One notable change, though, is that the Google Pay home screen now shows you relevant stores around you where you can pay with Google Pay.
The company also says that it's working to bring Google Pay to all of its products, so regardless of whether customers are shopping on Chrome or Assistant, they will have a consistent checkout experience with the cards they've saved to their Google Account. What it means is that you will start seeing the "Google Pay" sign everywhere, both online and in the physical world where Android Pay has hitherto been made available.
