Call Me By Your Name Received Four BAFTA Nominations

While Lady Bird and Get Out - written and directed by Greta Gerwig and Jordan Peele respectively - were both nominated for their screenplays, there was no room for either in the best director category, meaning it is another all-white, all-male line-up. They were pushed out of the Bafta category by the likes of Hugh Grant (Paddington 2) and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri actors Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell (who has been cleaning up this awards season).
Best-picture nominees are The Shape of Water, Three Billboards, 'The Darkest Hour, 'Dunkirk and Call Me By Your Name.
"I always thought of looking at the Bafta films with just Stephen Fry there forever more, so who thought I'd turn into Stephen Fry?"
She announced that BAFTA, with other industry bodies, was setting out principles and guidelines with the goal to "rest the tone" of the industry.
"I'll see you on the night", Lumley said, wrapping up her hosting announcement. Guillermo del Toro is nominated for both director and original screenplay, Sally Hawkins for leading actress and Octavia Spencer for supporting actress.

BAFTA also nominated First They Killed My Father for Film Not In The English Language.
"We're absolutely thrilled Martin McDonagh's Three Billboards has been recognized by BAFTA and its members with nine nominations - and following such a successful weekend at the Golden Globes", said Film4 director Daniel Battsek, adding that Film4 had backed all of McDonagh's films to date. Gary Oldman was nominated as leading actor and Kristin Scott Thomas as supporting actress, for for their roles as Winston and Clementine Churchill. Joanna Lumley takes over from veteran presenter Stephen Fry.
