The White House hasn't given much indication if the awards will actually happen.
Trump has spent the past several days railing against Michael Wolff's book "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" as a "Fake Book" and inserting himself in an on-air dispute between White House aide Stephen Miller and "CNN flunky" Jake Tapper.

The 71-year-old said he would be handing out his "dishonest media" awards in various "fake media" categories, ranging from "dishonest" to "bad reporting".

Mr Trump hit back on Twitter, writing: "I think [I] would qualify as not smart, but genius.and a very stable genius at that!"
After the interview, Trump tore into Tapper, referring to him as a "flunky".
The president first announced the awards on Jan 2 but scant details were released from the White House on how exactly the process would work. They call the show "monotonous ... liberal dogma", "a fake news show" and "political propaganda disguised as entertainment" respectively.
