For the January 31 total eclipse of the blue moon, viewers will be able to see it early in the morning though in Wisconsin it will be low in the western sky. It will also serve as our last Supermoon of 2018. For Eastern time (EST) in the U.S., residents in that region will see the eclipse begin at 6:48 AM and the moon will dip out of view shortly thereafter. Today, our lunar companion reaches an extreme perigee distance of 221,559 miles (356,565 kilometers).
