It showed Connecticut's population in 2017 is estimated at 3,588,184.

Missouri continues to grow, but at a much slower rate, while IL saw a slight drop in its population and fell from fifth to sixth as the most populous state, switching places with Pennsylvania.

The fastest-growing state was Idaho, followed by Nevada, Utah, Washington, Florida and Arizona.

The south and west regions of America also continue to lead in population growth.

Pennsylvania now has a new title as the fifth-largest state in the U.S.

The problem with ad blockers is that they block all ads indiscriminately and this hurts legitimate publishers. A handful of publishers rely on annoying and disruptive ads which is why people tend to use ad blockers.

With Connecticut's population gain is small, it reversed a population decline.

That's roughly double the net migration figure from the previous year, which was -4,000.

South Carolina's population is officially over five million and now the 10th fastest-growing in the country, according to the latest census numbers. That's an increase of 0.71 percent.

Meanwhile, in neighboring states such as Idaho, Colorado and Utah, the labor market continued to expand, which drew a number of people away from Wyoming.

As for why the decline is happening, Harger said it could be linked to a declining birth rate for the state, a drop in domestic migration - meaning people coming to IL from other states - and a "leveling off" of foreign migration. IL had the largest numeric decline, losing 33,703 people (a relatively small percentage change compared to its population of 12.8 million).

That decline is one of the worst, according to data released Wednesday by the Census Bureau. It's a.72 percent growth nationwide. The quantity of voting-age Americans developed to 252.1 million - an nearly 1 percent expansion throughout the year.

Texas tallied the biggest numeric growth with its population increasing by almost 400,000 residents in 2017.

The U.S. population was estimated at 325.7 million for 2017, an increase of.7 percent over 2016.

However, net worldwide migration decreased 1.8 percent - the first drop since 2012 to 2013.
