As a 12-year-old, Worcester's husband Morrill was moved by a boyhood visit to Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington County, VA.
The public is invited to attend and participate in the event.
The Hampton event is part of Wreaths Across America, a nationwide campaign that includes ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and 1,200 locations nationwide and overseas.

Keeping in mind Wreaths Across America's saying "A person dies twice: once when they take their final breath and later, the last time their name is spoken" the volunteers thank each veteran for their service and say their name aloud as they hang the wreath.
Wreaths Across America was started in 1992 by Morrill Worcester, owner of Worcester Wreath Company in ME, when he realized he had a surplus of merchandise nearing the end of the holiday season. The event started in 1992 at Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington, D.C., and now has sites in every state.
Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery is located at 1800 Cabrillo Memorial Dr., San Diego.
A gem of a meteor shower

"We are forever grateful for the thousands of supporters who dedicate their time and effort to fulfilling our mission on a local level", Worcester said. "This year we're hoping for more since the weather will be better".
This year, the ceremony, held simultaneously across the country at more than 1,000 locations, will be on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 at 9:00am.
Members of the Armed Forces will place remembrance wreaths for each branch of the military, as well as one for POW/MIAs and KIAs.

The Care Team at Kent-Forest Lawn Cemetery will also be giving poinsettias that can be placed at the headstones of non-military veterans.
