The latest law suit accuses Qualcomm of infringing several Apple battery life patents.
In its countersuit, Apple states that Qualcomm used this technology with its Snapdragon 800 and 820 processors inside of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd devices and Alphabet's Google Pixel phones without the permission from the company.
The Apple law suit comes after Qualcomm sued it last July for using elements of its battery life patents.

"Apple began seeking those patents years before Qualcomm began seeking the patents it asserts against Apple in this case", the firm wrote in its complaint.
The legal battle between Apple and Qualcomm continues to heat up.

These new claims are the latest strike Apple is bringing against Qualcomm after made patent infringement claims over the summer against the iPhone maker.

The lawsuits ask for unspecified payments from Apple for the alleged patent infringement and for the court to make Apple stop using those technologies.
The firm is alleging that it owns at least eight patents related to battery life that Qualcomm has violated, including patents related to making sure that each part of the phone's processor draws only minimum power needed to function, powering down parts of the processor when not needed, and ensuring that sleep and wake functions work better for the user.
The chipmaker on Thursday filed a request with the US International Trade Commission to ban the import and sale of certain iPhones that use Intel's modem.
Apple declined to comment on the new cases, referring to its earlier claims in its Wednesday filing that the company has developed its own technology and patents to power its iPhones.
